CAN I MAKE CASH DEPOSIT?

No. Deposits for the car rental can only be made by credit card ( Visa, Master, AMEX, Diners ).

CAN I PAY BY CHEQUE?

Yes. COMPANY cheques are accepted by Avis-Macau for settlement of bills ( Note : company cheques only).

CAN I ASK SOMEONE ELSE TO DRIVE THE CAR RENTED TO MY NAME?

A renter may allow another person to drive the car rented on his/her name if he/she availed of the Additional Driver's charge ($20/additional driver). The other person should also be legitimate to drive in Macau. And all drivers have to registered with Police Traffic Department of Macau SAR.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY DRIVING LICENSE IS VALID IN MACAU?

National Driving Licenses issued from countries listed below are valid for driving in Macau and need not be accompanied with an International Driving Permit:

Australia / Brazil / USA / New Zealand / Mozambique / Sao Tome and Principe / France / Hongkong / Philippines / Guinea-Bassau / Belgium / Netherlands / United Kingdom / Greece / Portugal / Luxembourg

If your driving license was issued from any of the above listed countries, you are valid to drive in Macau. All you need to do is to register at the Police Traffic Department of Macau SAR.

If your driving license was not issued from the above listed countries, you must secure an International Driving Permit and register at the Macau Traffic Department.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE REQUIRED FOR A DRIVER IN MACAU?

Twenty one years old (21). Twenty six (26) years old for renters of SMART Cars. There is, however, no maximum age set.

DO I HAVE TO SECURE AN INSURANCE BEFORE I CAN DRIVE IN MACAU?

NO. All rates are covered with Third Party Insurance. However, should an accident occur, the renter is liable to pay an amount not exceeding the Maximum Liability set for each car group. For renters over thirty five (35) yrs old who accepted the optional CDW (Collision Damage Waiver), they are liable to pay an amount not exceeding the Reduced Maximum Liadility set for each car group. I n case of any accidient occurred, the renter must report the case to our company and Police Traffic Department immediately. Otherwise, the renter is liable for all responsibility of the case.
